The Southern African Regional Assembly of the United Cities of Local Government of Africa

The Association for Local Authorities in Namibia (ALAN) will be hosting the Southern African Regional Assembly of the United Cities of Local Government of Africa from 3 – 5 September 2018 in Windhoek at a venue to be confirmed in due course.

The United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLGA) is an association of municipalities and national/regional local government associations in Africa and has been establish with the main objective to be a single voice and representative of African local government, to build capacity within African local government and to mobilise resources and facilitate development based on relevant priorities in the local communities of Africa.

The Regional Assembly brings together all Southern Africa Local Government policy makers, administrators and various stakeholders to deliberate on policy, legislative and developmental issues affecting the effective and efficient service delivery at the local government sector. The platform also serves as an opportunity for networking and sharing of best practices while promoting partnerships between interlinking sectors.
